This video tells the story of Ixtlán de Juárez, an indigenous community in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. The community is operating its own forestry company and was awarded FSC certification in 2011. The video celebrates the success of the community and shows the benefits brought by FSC.
Certification has built confidence within the community and improved workers conditions with regard to salaries, social security and safety. Ixtlán has also developed impact assessment plans and enhanced the protection and conservation of the forest.
