Does suburbanization undermine greenhouse gas benefits of urban population density?

This is a brief presentation of a new study on suburbanization and carbon footprint in dense cities. I read it on Pando.sc and, although I don't have access to the full journal article, I think that these results are very important in terms of sustainable development of urban areas. We shouldn't however jump to opposite conclusions ("what? now they tell us to build high and densely?"), because obviously sustainable city dwelling doesn't correspond to what we see in many cities such as Athens ...

The Venus Project is an organization that proposes a feasible plan of action for social change, one that works towards a peaceful and sustainable global civilization. It outlines an alternative to strive toward where human rights are no longer paper proclamations but a way of life.
